Introducing the APICS CPIM Recertification Exam
APICS is pleased to announce that a new certification product is being developed this year. The APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) Recertification Exam was approved by the APICS Leadership Team in February 2010.

The APICS CPIM Recertification Exam provides a unique opportunity to individuals whose CPIM credentials have expired and previously had been required to retake all five CPIM exams. Instead, candidates now can renew their certifications by taking a single exam. This exam will be available only through December 31, 2011.

The three-hour exam will consist of 120 multiple-choice questions. It will include 30 items taken from each of the following modules: Detailed Scheduling and Planning, Master Planning of Resources, Execution and Control of Operations, and Strategic Management of Resources. There will be no unscored items on this exam.

Take the APICS CPIM Recertification Exam at APICS 2010
Candidates will have the opportunity to take a paper-and-pencil exam at the 2010 APICS International Conference & Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. The exam is scheduled for October 17, 2010. The next opportunity to take the exam will be in December 2010.

Visit apics.org/recertification to learn more about the program, eligibility guidelines, exam delivery, costs, application information, and study options.

APICS will be actively marketing the exam and encourages partners to help spread the word to individuals who can benefit from this limited-time offer.

If you have any questions regarding the APICS CPIM Recertification Exam, please email certification@apics.org.

We are very excited about a new opportunity available to APICS certification recipients. APICS has formed a partnership with the American Society of Transportation and Logistics (AST&L) that allows APICS certification designees to pursue the AST&L Certification in Transportation and Logistics (CTL) with a waiver for two of the six modules required for that program. APICS CSCP designees can waive the elective Supply Chain Management module and APICS CPIM/CFPIM designees can waive the required Logistics Management module. This represents tremendous savings in time and up to $490 for APICS members.

In addition, layering credentials is an excellent way for APICS members to be more competitive in their field, earn more compensation, and have greater job security.

Please post this information to your chapter web sites, include in your chapter newsletters, and mention this incredible opportunity in your chapter meetings.

Sincerely,

Bob Collins, CFPIM, CIRM, CSCP
Executive Vice President, Development and Research
